Dig the trench which will hold water pipes and wire. Water pipes should be insulated - find good underground and insulated piping product here
In the trench, place a run of this wire: Underground Feeder Cable, Type UF-B. This is 14/2 w/Ground.
Also in the trench, place a run of Cat-5 wire. This is used to control your thermostat.
